Hey D-guild!
We have a problem in the guild with long guild meetings, where at least I recognize myself not wanting to continue a discussion or ask another question because I don't want to prolong the meeting . This is problematic because there is a risk that the guild will vote things through just because we don't have the energy to discuss more. I also LOVE to discuss important issues, but sometimes you just don't have time, especially when the night starts creeping closer. At KTH they have also had this problem.
Since last spring, the computer science guild at KTH has introduced a forum on their discord before their guild meetings, where guild members can ask questions to the petitioner & the board before the meeting, and the petitioners / the board can answer directly. You can read how things have gone for them according to one of their board members here (SWEDISH). According to her, the biggest advantage is that ideas behind motions and propositions can be refined before the meeting, and in this way really good ideas can be voted through, instead of pretty good ideas that need to be changed later.
So now! Finally, I'll get to the point. It's scary to try something like this on our guild, and there are risks too of course. I want to know what our members think about the matter, and whether it is a good idea. I would be super happy if you could take the time to fill out this form <3
