Lund University is currently under pressure from Google, since we have vastly exceeded our total storage quota. We are using around 350 TB of our 120 TB quota to be shared among more than 100 000 students. The previously unlimited storage has now turned into a hard quota, meaning that the student domain will be locked by Google Feb 1st if we don’t alleviate this problem. If this happens, no students will be able to edit their files.
Due to this urgent situation, we are forced to take swift action. We will need to enforce a personal quota of 10 Gb on all students. This will affect you in the following way:
For current students:
We urge you to delete all data exceeding 10 Gb before Jan 31st.
If you don’t comply with this, your files will be locked. You can send and receive emails, but not edit your files. Download will still be possible. They will be editable again when you are compliant.
For former students:
Former students are students who has no active registration for spring semester 2023 and also has been inactive during 2022:
During Jan 31st we will start deleting data from your account. Please download all data you want to keep before 07:00 Jan 31st.

Please delete any files you don’t need. Please help each other to solve this problem for all students at Lund University.
Instructions for checking your current personal storage use:
- Login to your student account at webmail.student.lu.se.
- E-mail: Click on “Settings” and “All settings”. Below “General” scroll to the bottom.
- Google Drive: Click on “Google Apps”. Select “Drive”.
- Google Photo: Click on ”Google Apps”. Click on “Photos.
